Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a restful and lovely start to their New Year. I have made a list of resolutions; some to help me be better, some to help me be stronger and some to just make an effort to appreciate the little things in my life. I've got a number of new projects in mind that I hope to share with you, naturally with the intent to keep things interesting and sarcastic. I want to experiment with recipes and read a ton of books and write a few reviews and build things, make things, create things and break them and come back here to tell you all about it, and I hope that you'll be with me for the ride.

That being said, I have literally none of those things for you today.

Instead, today the world celebrates the birthday of my personal hero. I've spent a lifetime looking up to this man and he's the guy that everyone I know turns to for support, for help, for a laugh. I've never known him to take a sick day unless it was forced upon him. He's known in his home town and in neighboring ones for his shining spirit and ability to light up a room. He's genuinely the nicest person I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and I would not be who I am today without him. He's everything I want and strive to be. His name is Rusty and he's my dad.

And I am so very, very lucky to claim him as my own.

Happy Birthday, Dad.
Love you always.

xoxo
