Summer To Do List

I just got back from a trip to my hometown in Connecticut where I got to visit with family, help my brother finish a fire pit, did some planting, some cleaning, and some recovering from an absolutely dreadful cold.

As usual, I didn't get to visit with everyone I would have liked to, nor did I accomplish a handful of things on my list - due in part to being sick, but I'm planning to go back towards the end of summer and perhaps then I will have another chance.

On thing that I did get to do was visit with my sister and brother-in-law and their three crazy little kids. My nieces and nephew are 5, (almost 3) and 1 years old respectively, and they are just gosh darn adorable. I'll be honest though, I don't know how their parents can keep up with them. Just a few hours on a playground and I was wiped out.

But just LOOK at these cute little faces!

Here, I am being schooled in playground music-making.

This is blurry, but I love how they snuggle!
Couldn't you just eat them up?

My trips home are always a combination of happy and sad. Happy I get to go, sad I have to leave. Happy to come back to South Carolina, but sad that I'm far away from my people. I wish someone would just go ahead and invent a teleportation device already.

I came back to a house that was mostly intact despite the boys (Matt and the fluffykids) being left to their own devices for nine days, and had Monday off from work to recoup, clean, do laundry and get organized. Typically I just jump right back into the office after time off, but taking that extra day really did help me feel more prepared for the work week ahead.

Now that I'm back, I've got a bunch of plans for home improvement projects, crafts and how to's for the summer. But I'll be working hard to not work too hard in between. I feel like I live for the weekends, wishing away my weekdays, but by the time the weekend comes, I've got some many things I want to accomplish that I feel like I don't have time to just relax! And summer only lasts so long. So there will be projects... they might just be a bit spread out.

That being said, my Type A personality will never let me rest, so here's my summer to-do list!

...and probably a handful of other things. I've got a few little in-between crafts planned for you, and we can watch together to see how I make out. I'm guessing I accomplish about 75%. Should we start taking bets?
