FAQ's

1. You don't blog all that often. Isn't this your full time job?

Sadly, no. I work full time in a job that often requires late nights and sometimes weekends and frankly, keeps me pretty busy. I love to blog and I wish I could do it all the time, but if I blogged as often as I hoped, I wouldn't have time to live! So I blog in my spare time.

2. What's is the highest ranking project on the blog thus far?

For me personally, it's my Faux Granite Kitchen Counters. Part of this is due to the fact that it was one of my first real DIY projects I did in our new house and it holds a special place in my heart. The other part is that I love how they turned out, it was a great learning experience and I celebrate in the fact that we saved so much money by doing it that way!

For everyone else, it seems to be Candle Making and the Pillow Covers.

3. Do people make fun of you for owning a blog?

Yes. All the time.

4. So why do it?

Honestly? I love it! I wish I could blog full time. I love to write, I like to make people laugh and I enjoy being creative, taking pictures, and sharing it with all of you.

5. Where'd you come up with "Castle DIY"?

All the better names were taken. There's a lot of blogs out there!

6. You've read Twilight twice. Care to explain yourself?

Yeah... about that.

The reason I read it the first time is because I was reading something more up my alley that was violent and murderous, and I started having nightmares. I felt I needed to take a break, so I borrowed the first Twilight book from a coworker. She was on the third book at the time and figured it'd give me something to do on my lunch hour. But the book is such an easy read that I couldn't stop. I cruised through the whole series in less than a week. I actually think I may have taken the third book from her while she was still in the middle of it because I was so addicted. Twenty-seven hundred pages in six days. I strained my eyes so thoroughly that I couldn't read for a month after without getting a headache. Lisa Marie, if you're reading this, I'm sorry for being a book-hog.

Why I read it a second time? I have no idea.

7. Guilty pleasures?

Criminal Minds marathons on Netflix, chocolate, cupcakes, coffee and Pinterest.

8. What's your deal with Podcasts? Which Podcast app do you use?

I am a music lover and my tastes are pretty darn eclectic. I love country, classic rock, pop, alternative, and Elton John (he's his own genre). But lately, I've been increasingly more disappointed by new music and getting progressively more tired of my current collection. Matt had suggested that I listen to Serial as I enjoy a good murder mystery and true crime is sort of my thing, and it was the top rated and most talked-about Podcast in the country. I figured I'd give it a shot. I haven't looked back. I regularly listen to This American Life, Sword & Scale, Freakonomics and Radio Lab. I use the Pocket Casts app by Shifty Jelly for Android. It works very well.

9. Do you make money through your blog?

Yes! If you click on an ad, use my Amazon search box or buy items from the Amazon links that I post, I make a very, teeny-tiny commission. Thus far I have earned a little less than $14. Watch out, Warren Buffet! I'm right behind you. (For more information on my relationship with Amazon, Google and their affiliate programs, you can visit my Privacy Policy.)

10. Can I use your pictures or reference your site?

Yes! Please do! Pin, Facebook, Tweet or Instagram to your little heart's content! But if you do share my stuff, please be aware that any content, photographs or recipes are owned by Castle DIY unless otherwise noted. Also, be sure to credit back to Castle DIY (or in some cases, my sources). Please give credit where credit is due!

11. I don't like your blog. I find your rants irritating and your content unfulfilling.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but it's okay. The internet is a big place and there are lots of other blogs out there for you to explore. Need suggestions? Check Bloglovin'. If there is something missing that you'd like to see, or if you have an idea for something I can post about, I'm eager to hear your opinion. Shoot me an e-mail and let me know what I can do to make your visit here a little bit better.

If you're simply an Internet troll or just hate everything and want to use my blog as an outlet, then I'm sorry, but you're not welcome here. There is a place for things like that. It's called 4chan.
